Greetings from the Global Gekko Gang
Dear Gekko supporters and customers,
As the curtains draw on 2023, the Global Gekko Gang extends warm wishes to all our wonderful supporters and collaborators. It has been a year filled with achievements, growth, and shared successes, and we are eager to share some of the highlights that made 2023 special. Our photo below shows some of the team after “Wednesday Lunch” in the Ballarat Manufacturing Facility.
In February 2023, we proudly restarted the Gekko Intulo Gold Processing Training Course in Accra, Ghana. Gekko is excited to announce Intulo’s continuation into 2024 with Bill Staunton, previously Adjunct Professor at Curtin University’s WASM, taking the lead role in presenting on all things related to gold metallurgy. This initiative will span various global locations, fostering knowledge exchange and skill development in Africa, South America, North America and Australia.
Check out the program and register for West African Gold Metallurgy Course on February on 12/13 February 2024 here. For our Latin American clients we will be holding a course on the 12/13 March 2024.
Throughout 2023, Gekko’s world-leading InLine Leach Reactors continued to impress, consistently delivering recoveries in the plus 95-99% range – treating gold and silver gravity and flotation concentrates. Our technical and manufacturing team continue to focus on maximising product quality and efficiencies. Thank you to the engineering firms and mining clients who continue to support this technology through investment in the technology and our service and support team.
Measuring gold recoveries real-time and other important plant performance indicators such as carbon concentration, DO and pH is a critical capability for the future performance and automation of gold processing plants. The Carbon Scout technology is outperforming expectations, and we now have 14 installations. The technical OLGA technology measuring gold in real-time in solutions and slurries has been redesigned to enhance operability. This exciting technology is complimentary to the Carbon Scout and is a game changer!
The opportunities and interest in Gekko technologies for the treatment of critical minerals utilising crushing modules and continuous gravity modules (VSI and IPJ respectively) has dramatically expanded over 2023. One of the standout moments of the year was the mid-year delivery of the Dolphin Mine Processing Plant for Group 6 Metals on King Island recovering critical mineral tungsten. Designed, manufactured and delivered despite COVID-19 challenges, this plant is a huge accomplishment by the team.
Meeting our valued customers face-to-face at conferences is always a highlight for our team. These interactions allowed us to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas, share stories and further understand your needs at the stand or over a beer, wine or soft drink.
Gekko’s dedication to excellence was recognised with several awards, including the Victorian Manufacturing Hall of Fame Honour Roll and Legend of Mining Award presented to our founder and Chair, Elizabeth Lewis-Gray, – the latter at IMARC 2023.
As the holiday season approaches, the many members of the Gekko Gang will take a well-deserved break from Thursday, December 21 to Monday, January 8 2024. We have a talented crew available to support our clients during this period. For global assistance, please contact us through +61 3 5339 5859.
Our assay laboratory will remain open throughout the festive period, ensuring uninterrupted service for your analytical needs.
The Gekko Gang would like to thank you, our supporters and customers, for your continued trust and faith in us. We wish everyone Happy Holidays, a wonderful Christmas and a fabulous New Year. We are looking forward to doing business with you in 2024!
Warm regards,
The Global Gekko Gang
