Classic Minerals purchase Gekko gravity module for use at flagship Kat Gold Project
A recently published case study has outlined how the innovative InLine Pressure Jig (IPJ) installation at New Gold’s New Afton Mine (near Kamloops, British Columbia) has achieved the New Afton’s project justification of an overall Cu increase of 1.4% – resulting in a payback of two years. The site recently processed large quantities of metallic native copper from the upper oxide (supergene) and transition ores which did not recover as well in the conventional flotation circuit.
December 2017 saw the successful commissioning of the turnkey gravity circuit installation (gravity box) at EMR Golden Grove. The circuit was designed, installed and successfully commissioned by the Gekko technical services team in close collaboration with EMR Golden Grove teams through late November and early December 2017 and in the process met a critical mine schedule which had high grade gold ore hitting the plant immediately post commissioning.
After the successful on-time delivery of two 55 tph modular Python crushing and gravity plants to TMAC Resources’ Hope Bay mine in Northern Canada in 2016/17, Gekko has progressed in developing a new 30 tph underground model.
The Mineros Group recently implemented the first phase of an expansion project at its extensive alluvial gold dredging operations in the Nechi River delta at El Bagre in Colombia. The project was borne out of a successful pilot plant trial on a tethered barge which accepted a representative stream of Dobaibe gravity feed material.
Gekko Systems has been engaged by Canadian mining producer, New Gold Inc. (NGD), to supply technology for its New Afton copper-gold mine.
New Afton’s new gravity circuit addition will consist of Gekko’s largest InLine Pressure Jig (IPJ) unit – the IPJ3500 – as well as an IPJ2400 and its proven Mag-Screen technology. It will be installed in the existing ball milling circuit.
