Gekko Process Engineer Pierrie du Preez, pictured here with Michael Ohene-Agyei, had a successful COVID-SAFE service visit at Siquiri Gold Mine owned by AngloGold Ashanti. This mine is located within the Siguiri District in the north-east of the republic of Guinea, West Africa. This mine is home to one of the early design installed InLine Leach Reactors (ILR). It has operated continuously since 1999. During the service visit the control system was replaced, resulting in better usability.
Gekko also recently installed a new ILR at the Siguiri mine in their combination plant upgrade. Results indicate that overall gravity recovery has now increased to over 50%.
Two ILR units are available: (1) a completely automated batch model for processing high grade gravity gold concentrates: or (2) as a continuous model for treating high-throughput gold, silver and complex sulphide concentrates from InLine Pressure Jigs and flotation circuits.
The ILR’s innovative design and efficient mineral leaching chemistry is providing cost, production and environment gains to operations worldwide.
