Gekko’s InLine Leach Reactor (ILR) has long been the world’s leading intensive cyanidation unit. With over 115 installations world-wide, the ILR is beginning to be a standard inclusion in cyanidation circuits.
In 1997 Gekko developed an R&D model ILR which was installed at the Henty Gold Mine in Tasmania. Tim Bell, Gekko’s West Australian and Asian Sales Manager, worked at Henty prior to his employment at Gekko and has been instrumental in continuing the relationship with this site. The original R&D model remains installed at Henty.
This is an excellent effort by the Gekko team and a fantastic journey.
The success of the R&D model at the Henty Mine culminated in a larger scale unit being designed and installed at the Gold Fields’ Damang project in Ghana. This year, thirteen years later, Gekko has installed and commissioned an upgraded ILR3000 at Damang. Following the commissioning the new ILR has been consistently achieving excellent recoveries up to 99%.
This is an excellent effort by the Gekko team and a fantastic journey.
