A year of successes with the InLine Leach Reactor (ILR)
The Gekko InLine Leach Reactor has continued to impress throughout 2024, with a notable milestone—the 200th ILR sale to Marmato Gold Mine in Colombia. We’ve received outstanding feedback from our clients, with the ILR consistently achieving gold and silver recovery rates in the 95-99% range. We appreciate the trust placed in us by our engineering partners and mining clients, whose investment in this technology helps drive its success.
Innovation and new launches
On November 12th we were thrilled to launch the Wolff Concentrator, a groundbreaking technology designed to support water stewardship through minimising the injection of precious fresh water in gold processing plants through the gravity circuit. This device will transform gold processing by utilising “dirty” or recycled water and improve water balance management in gold mills.
Additionally, we introduced the Data Integrated Ground System, an automation solution for gold leaching circuits that integrates cutting-edge technologies like the Carbon Scout, OLGA, Cyanide Analyser, and Neon for real-time data analytics.
Engaging with our customers
Meeting with our customers face-to-face, whether at conferences or during on-site service visits, has always been a highlight for the Gekko team. These interactions not only help strengthen relationships but also allow us to exchange ideas, share experiences, and gain an understanding of your needs.
Notable projects
One of the standout projects this year was the refurbishment of the Gekko Gold Gravity Processing Plant at Vertex’s Hill End Gold Project, formerly located at the Morning Star Gold Mine in Victoria. The Gekko plant is known for its modular design and will be a key asset for Vertex, enhancing its gold processing capabilities.
Celebrating staff milestones
This year, we celebrated the dedication and loyalty of many of our employees, with several reaching impressive milestone anniversaries of 10, 15, 20, and even 25 years with Gekko with a great party at Mitchell Harris wine bar. A particular shout out to Nigel Grigg who has been with Gekko for over 25 years and lived and worked in regions globally with his family and wife Michelle. Tim Hughes, Dan O’Halloran and Paul Meyer have been a wonderful part of the Gekko Gang for 20 years.
Training and knowledge sharing
This year, our team continued to deliver the Gekko Intulo Gold Processing and Optimisation course to great success, with programs held in North America, South America, and Africa. In 2025, we look forward to kicking off the next round of courses in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, on February 4-5, followed by sessions in Peru and Canada. Click here to register for Intulo Côte d’Ivoire.
Expending our global reach
We announced a new partnership with an agent in Türkiye, FESA, expanding Gekko’s global footprint. Stay tuned for more collaborations and partnerships to be announced in the coming year!
