Gekko Systems recently celebrated 30 years of passionate people and global solutions with our “Gekko Gang” from around the world at the historic Goods Shed in Ballarat, Victoria. The venue, a symbol of regional industry and transformation, was the perfect backdrop for an evening dedicated to connection, reflection, and pride in how far we have come since opening our doors in 1996.

The celebration brought together team members from across Australia and abroad, many of whom have contributed to Gekko’s evolution from a regional start‑up to a trusted global leader in mineral processing and energy‑efficient solutions. The night was filled with warm reunions, shared memories, and a collective sense of achievement built over three decades of innovation, resilience, and collaboration.

A standout moment of the evening was the recognition of team members who have contributed 15 and 20 years of service, individuals whose dedication has shaped not only our projects, but the culture that defines Gekko. Presented by Co‑Founder and Technical Director Sandy Gray and CEO Andrew Edmondston, the awards were accompanied by heartfelt stories from colleagues. Each reflection highlighted the deep camaraderie, mentorship, and shared purpose that make Gekko such a unique place to work.
These long‑service milestones reflect more than tenure. They represent the loyalty, expertise, and commitment that have allowed Gekko to remain agile, inventive, and people‑centred through every chapter of our growth. The bonds within our team, forged on mine sites, in workshops, across continents, and around countless problem‑solving tables, are a defining part of who we are.

We were honoured to be joined by our long‑standing partners from the Elphinstone Group, Dale, Cheryl and Kelly Elphinstone and Peter Hansen, whose support has been instrumental throughout our journey. Their presence underscored the importance of enduring partnerships in driving innovation and strengthening regional manufacturing capability. Together, we’ve navigated industry shifts, embraced new technologies, and delivered solutions that have made a meaningful impact for customers around the world.
