The Gekko team is pleased that it is able now provide process chemicals in conjunction with its well established technical and process optimisation support to the mining industry.
Gekko’s optimised chemicals ensure improved performance. Benefits may include:
- A faster and effective gold production process (GoldiLOX)
- Control cyanide spills (Ferric Sulphate)
- Prevent a passivation film forming on the gold surface (Lead Nitrate)
- Remove impurities in water (Ferric Chloride)
- pH Control in electrowinning (Sodium Hydroxide)
An advanced leach accelerant able to increase gold recovery while shortening intensive cyanidation times, making gold production a faster and more effective process.
GoldiLOX is a fraction of the cost of other leach accelerants in the market place and is compatible with all intensive reactors in the market place.
Ferric Sulphate can be used as a DETOX chemical in the mining industry. It can be used to precipitate soluble arsenic as highly insoluble ferric arsenate precipitates, which settle out in the tailings pond, which may also require the use of flocculant. Ferric sulphate can also be used to help control cyanide spills by forming strong iron cyanide complexes which are much less environmentally hazardous than free or WAD cyanide.
Copper sulphate pentahydrate (CuSO4·5H2O) is used in two main applications; as an activator in the concentration by froth flotation of lead, zinc, cobalt and gold ores; and as a catalyst in the INCO process, where it is required to complex free cyanide ions to catalyse the detox process.
Sodium hydroxide, also known as lye or caustic soda, is an inorganic compound with the formula NaOH. It is a white solid ionic compound consisting of sodium cations Na⁺ and hydroxide anions OH⁻, used in mining as a processing aid and for pH control, especially in electrowinning.
Sodium Hydroxide (46% IBC)
Sodium Hydroxide (46% IBC) also known as Liquid Caustic. This is sodium hydroxide prepared as a 46% solution, supplied in IBC’s ready to use, avoiding the potentially hazardous dissolution of solid sodium hydroxide. Used in the mining industry as pH control and as a processing aid.
