Our South American team is proud to confirm the sale of Gekko’s 100th InLine Leach Reactor (ILR) unit. The recent sale marks not only an impressive milestone for intensive cyanidation but also the first sale for Gekko into Brazil. Mineracao Caraiba’s Nova Xavantina project took delivery of the unit in October 2011, having been pre-commissioned at Gekko’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility earlier that month.
Gekko’s Brazilian and Argentinian agent, Diego Mielke of Minetec, worked hard with Nigel Grigg, Manager of Gekko’s South American office, to conclude this significant transaction.
Also in South America, our first Mexican ILR installation was recently commissioned at La Cienega, located in Durango, Mexico. The La Cienega mine site, owned by Industrias Penoles, is in the process of expanding capacity, and the InLine Leach Reactor, model ILR150BA, is an important component of this project.
Nick Katsikaros, Gekko’s intensive cyandiation guru and chemical engineer, says, “‘Higher recoveries, faster, guaranteed’ is our mantra and that is exactly what our customers get from the ILR”.
The ILR’s innovative design produces outstanding results due to its highly efficient concentrate oxygenation system.
- • More cash in hand, sooner, with more gold and silver recovered on both fi ne and coarse mineral particles
- • Unit recovery and operations data easily accessed automatically.
