April Fools Day 2012

Gekko Systems Pty Ltd is proud to announce the final funding approval of the world’s first carbon-neutral mine. The new mine is possible with Gekko Systems’ groundbreaking Python technology and the cooperation of a diverse consortium of companies with world-class expertise in their individual fields.

The deposit known as Yunong Qian is situated in the highlands of Nepal, on the southern upland slopes of Baishan, in the shadow of Mt Everest. Due to the environmental sensitivity and remoteness of the location, transportation of fuel and mining supplies is severely restricted.

April Fools Day 2011

Gekko is excited to announce today that it has developed a bowl replacement system for all common batch centrifugal concentrators including the InLine Spinner and other gravity gold recovery devices. The new liner system can be simply fitted to any of the existing BCC units. The hydrophobic bowl liner is reported to replace its previous riffle system technology made of polyurethane, ceramic, rubber and stainless steel, and offers greater wear durability and lower cost

April Fools Day 2010

Gekko Systems has released the results of a worldwide operational and design review of all existing centrifugal concentrators. The study compared mineral recoveries obtained in design testwork against the actual performance obtained in plant operation. A number of critical parameters were found to have a major influence on the observed discrepancies. These included the usual suspects including differences in yield, feed rate, G force, mineral size and sample selection. However, there was one factor identified which surprised all participants.
